Thomas W. Fox
Dedication PersonifiedTom Fox was a man who saw 4am more than anyone I’ve ever known. As a kid his high school gym teacher somehow found out how many hours he was working at a pizza place and let him go behind the bleachers and sleep each day, giving him a passing mark for gym class anyway. He then went on to start working in Transportation Management at around 19. He learned the business from the ground up, hand-loading trailers, driving forklifts, driving tractor-trailers and putting in more overtime than anyone could count. He was the guy who didn’t mind living at work because his work was his life. He was the guy where if he knew you liked something and he liked you, he wanted to give you a million of those things, whatever they were. How lucky was I as a kid to have this guy as my Dad? He brought me like half a pallet of bubble gum once when I was 10. When I was in the Navy he mailed me 3000 chocolate chip cookies, and he did things like this for other people too, not just his kid. We’re very lucky here to carry on what he started. We should all strive to be like Tom Fox. We lost someone great when he passed away and I think about him every day.
